This policy explains what personal data TodayMarkt processes, why, on what legal basis, and the rights you have under the EU GDPR. Controller details are in the Impressum.
Account data: your email address and login credentials (handled by our auth provider).
Content you create: listings, photos, prices, descriptions and chat messages.
Location: the approximate area you choose when searching or posting nearby. Your exact address and phone number are kept private and are never shown to other users.
Technical data needed to run the service (e.g. session/login tokens or cookies, basic security logs).
Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — to provide your account and the marketplace.
Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — security, fraud prevention and to keep the service working.
Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — where you actively opt in (e.g. optional features). You can withdraw consent at any time.
Hosting & database: Supabase (Postgres, storage, auth).
AI listing assistant: when you create a listing from a photo, the image and text are processed by Google Gemini (vision) and Deepseek (description). Photos may contain personal data — please avoid including other people, vehicle plates or documents in your photos.
Some processors are located outside the EU/EEA. Where that is the case, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards (e.g. EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete individual listings at any time, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Germany, your state Datenschutzbehörde).
